Dr. Robert Hooper
Dr. Hooper is a sleep and pulmonary physician. He is the medical
director of Scottsdale
Sleep Center and is board certified in both sleep and pulmonary
medicine. He sees patients with sleep and respiratory problems.
He has achieved the level of Fellowship in the American College
of Physicians, in the American College of Chest Physicians, and
in the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He is a graduate of the
University of Oklahoma and did his specialty training at Walter
Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Hooper opened his practice in Arizona in 1979 and served as
Director of Pulmonary, Sleep and Respiratory Care at St. Luke’s
Hospital for 16 years. In 1995 he relocated his practice to Scottsdale
and joined Arizona Lung and Sleep Consultants. His experience has
included clinical practice, clinical research and training physicians
and healthcare professionals. His research has been published in
many journals including the “New England Journal of Medicine.”
He has published
over eighty articles and books. The writings, in addition to his
research, include essays on the practice of medicine, articles on
medical management and patient educational material.
Dr. Hooper has authored a book on sleep disorders designed as a
guide for patients with sleep problems. It is written clearly in
an easily understood manner and has received excellent reviews.

His areas of interest are sleep apnea, excessive daytime sleepiness,
